Mr. A. M. Naik is Chairman Emeritus of Larsen & Toubro Limited, one of India’s most respected conglomerates, a Company he has served for nearly 6 decades. Additionally, Mr. Naik is the Chairman of L&T Employees Trust, and he also serves as the Honorary Consul General of Denmark. He is widely credited with sharpening the Company’s focus on key, high-value businesses. In his personal capacity, Mr. Naik has over the past few years increasingly devoted time to philanthropy. His service to nation, industry and society has secured high national recognition, including the Padma Vibhushan in 2019, the Padma Bhushan in 2009 and a host of awards from industry bodies, academia and the media.

In 2009, as part of his private philanthropic initiatives, Mr. Naik set up two trusts to promote causes that have always been close to his heart. The Nirali Memorial Medical Trust focuses on extending modern healthcare to the needy. The Naik Charitable Trust helps in propagating education and skill-building. Both institutions work towards making a significant difference to the lives and livelihoods of the community.

The Trust is committed to bringing the benefits of advanced medical technology to the disadvantaged and the needy. Its wide-ranging initiatives in south Gujarat and in Mumbai are extending a lifeline of hope to those in need.
The Trust promotes education by setting up schools in rural and urban India, with special emphasis on creating learning opportunities for the girl child. Its schools in south Gujarat cater largely to children from the disadvantaged sections of society.
The Trust is the first to introduce the concept of skill training to villages in south Gujarat. Since inception, has over 2500 male students and 1100 female students have graduated from the Anil Naik Technical Training Centre. Most of those trained have found gainful employment

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. J.B. Desai in Mumbai on 17th July 2022.

Mr Desai was closely associated with the Naik Charitable Trust and the Nirali Memorial Medical Trust and had been instrumental in implementing on ground the vision of Mr. A.M. Naik, Chairman of the Trusts. Passionate about every project that he took up, Mr. Desai will be remembered for his tireless efforts and devotion to the cause of the Trusts.

Mr. and Mrs. Naik and the Board of Trustees extend their sympathies to Mr. Desai’s wife Bhartiben, sons Wealthy and Healthy, and the extended bereaved family.
